My first stitches

So I was running on my lunch break in my skirt and slippery shoes to avoid the pouring rain when I slipped on what I think was oil, and gashed my knee so well I needed 5 stitches. I made it to a taco del mar, about a block away and had no idea how bad it was until about three people flocked over to me with extreme concern on their faces. One man in particular sat me down and covered my knee in napkins. Once he took the napkins off he got quite a look on his face and said, "stitches!" He helped me hobble over to a spa, where another lady who was helping me worked. They got my knee all wrapped up, and I called my work so that my co worker, Marissa, could come help me. Through my insurance I had one free cab ride, and so my co-worker and I took a taxi all the way to St. Josephs in Tacoma. They took x-rays of my wrist and knee, and nothing was broken. Praise the Lord. I met a very special male nurse named Adam. I'll tell you stories about him. Mom was dropped off at the ER by Nicky, and I got 5 stitches. The end. I am not allowed to bend it for a while, and thus no work tomorrow at least. I was upset that mom was getting so much attention so I decided do this. :)

  1. OHH NOOO! That looks terrible. You all are becoming quite the houseful. So sorry that you had to get your first stitches. Grateful that there were so many helpful souls about.

  2. I love that mom with her broken arms had to come to the ER for you! We're coming as soon as we can to help out with all you crazy people. Oh, and I also love that your insurance includes one free taxi ride. What is that about? I've never heard of anything like that, but glad you were able to make use of it!
